About the event


A land of glorious culture, India, has diverse crafts which are rich in history and religion. Each form of craft finds its roots in the empires and kingdoms that ruled various parts of the country. Throughout centuries, crafts have been embedded in a culture and tradition within rural communities. In this challenge, participants can choose any part of the country need to come up with a marketing strategy to help bring back the glory of the chosen region-specific unique range of handcrafted and curated creations, retelling the incredible story behind the Indian art and craft tradition.


The case competition will have two rounds as mentioned below:

Round-1: Pre-Eximius

  • Participants should deliver a powerpoint presentation detailing the region and craft form chosen, strategy for reviving/promoting the craft, accompanied by feasibility details (Max 10 slides)
  • The team has to design a branding strategy for a craft of your choice, specifically targeted towards enhancing the livelihoods of traditional craftsmen
  • Participants should sent their presentation to Karigari_Eximius@gmail.com. This is an elimination round and only qualifying teams will proceed to round 2 of the competition
  • Round 1 results will be declared within 5 days of the round 1 submission deadline

Round-2: At IIMB Campus

  • 6 teams will qualify for round 2
  • The qualifying teams need provide a comprehensive plan which would now also include the promotion channels to be targeted and tentative cost feasibility
  • The presentation for round 2 will take place on campus (IIM-B) during Eximius where participants will be required to present.


  • The competition is open for undergraduate and post graduate students
  • Each team can have maximum 4 participants and minimum 2 participants
  • Multiple teams from the same college are allowed
  • All the participants must belong to the same institute
  • A student cannot be part of more than one team
  • The participants must carefully read through and agree to the following Terms & Conditions before registering:
    • All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity and final judgments will be with organizing committee of Eximius, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
    • The format and structure of events is subject to change before the actual beginning of the event


  • Round 1: submission by 24th July, 2017.
  • Round 2: 4/5/6 August 2017 during Eximius at IIM Bangalore.


1st Prize: INR 5000

2nd Prize: INR 3500
