Product Management Workshop: How do you know and understand the business of your product, or even, “move over to the business side”? What does the job and career path of a product manager entail?
- Product Management is for those who care about more than just writing great code and building great products. They itch to learn more about their customers and care about how the product is marketed and sold. Typically people who take on such combined business and technical responsibility are called Product Managers.
- Successful Product Managers need to be aware of the Productizing Process which is a framework that brings together the core competencies that are necessary to consistently build successful products, and are applicable across the spectrum from large companies to startups, and to a range of products spanning enterprise, consumer and digital. Another key aspect of the role is to understand the interlock of the Product Manager role with various other roles and functions in the organization.
- So, how do you know and understand the business of your product, or even, “move over to the business side”? What does the job and career path of a product manager entail? Prof. Shah, Co-founder and Director of Programs & Faculty at the Institute of Product Leadership and veteran Product Leader, answers these questions and more in this workshop.
